The “Chiemseestern” is situated right on the shore of the beautiful “Bavarian Sea” with a panoramic view to the Chiemgau Alps in the background. Our quiet location at the end of the small lakeside promenade of Gstadt offers the perfect base for exploring the lake and the region.

The small community Gstadt faces the picturesque Island of “Frauenchiemsee”, which will enchant you with its charming fish restaurants and beer gardens. The larger island, called “Herrenchiemsee”, will also impress you with the magnificent Castle of Bavarian’s fairy-tale king - King Ludwig II. The shipping pier is only 100 meters distant and the ships will take you to both of those islands in only a few minutes. The ships operate all year round.

The village itself offers you boat rentals, a newly built lakeside park and several restaurants, all easily reached by foot.

Especially on summer evenings the small town radiates a Mediterranean flair, which entices you to make yourself comfortable with a glass of wine on the balcony and enjoy watching the perfect combinations of light and colors.
